In 1985, Yamaha developed the TT-F1 specification FZR750 (0W74) based on the commercially available FZ750, with the aiming to conquer Suzuka.
The 0W74, which competed at Suzuka in the 1985 season wearing Tech21 colors, was entrusted to Sonauto Yamaha of France and repainted in Gauloises colors for the Bol d'Or 24-hour endurance race at the Circuit Paul Ricard in France.
Ridden by leading French riders Christian Sarron, Jacques Cornu, and Thierry Espié, it made a strong impression on fans with its capabilities.
