[A Legendary Custom Model Revived with a Polycarbonate Body]

Year 2026 marks the 40th anniversary of the Hot Shot Jr., the first Racer Mini 4WD released in 1986.

To celebrate this milestone, a special machine inspired by the Mae-Peller III, a tune-up model by Yasuyuki Maeda 前田靖幸氏, also known as "Mae-chan," a Mini 4WD guru who was very active in CoroCoro Comic and Tamiya Junior News at the time, is now available.

The body, inheriting the image of the Mae-Peller III, is made of lightweight polycarbonate.

The dark blue chassis is the VZ, chosen for its abundance of features for winning races.

The A parts, such as the rollers and gear cover, are pearl white.

The 5-spoke wheels are equipped with offset tread super hard tires as standard, resulting in a race-ready specification. Moreover, the instruction manual includes an explanation of the original Mae-Peller III by Mae-chan himself!

This is a machine you'll definitely want to collect along with the Emperor (Type 3 chassis), which will be released in August 2026.

[The VZ Chassis: Designed for Strength and Expandability]

The VZ chassis further refines the performance of the popular VS chassis, known for its small size, light weight, and short wheelbase.

While retaining the excellent features of the VS chassis, such as maneuverability and ease of maintenance, the VZ chassis boasts increased strength in areas like the bumper, rear stay base, and propeller shaft bearings.

Its moderate "flex" for shock absorption is also a key feature.

Furthermore, both the rear roller stay and front bumper are detachable, significantly improving setting flexibility.

The shaft bearings utilize low-friction POM resin 620 plastic bearings.

Both the chassis body and A-parts such as the gear cover are made of ABS resin.

The gear ratio is set at 3.5:1.
